KFC Big Bash League BBL 2022 2023
The Big Bash League is an Australian professional club Twenty20 cricket league that was founded in 2011 by Cricket Australia.
It is sometimes known as the KFC Big Bash League due to sponsorship reasons. The KFC Twenty20 Big Bash was replaced by the Big Bash League, which has eight city-based franchises as opposed to the eight state teams that had previously competed.
Since the competition’s beginning, KFC, a fast-food chicken restaurant, has sponsored it. Along with the Indian Premier League, it is one of only two T20 cricket leagues that rank among the top ten domestic sports leagues in terms of average attendance.
The Perth Scorchers won BBL 11 (2021/2022) after defeating the Sydney Sixers by 79 runs in the championship game.
Throughout Australia, BBL games take place in the winter months of December, January, and February.
Six of the eight participating teams have won the championship at least once. The Perth Scorchers are the most successful side in the brief history of the league, having won the championship four times, including two years in a row.
The Sydney Sixers have won the championship three times, including twice in a row. The Brisbane Heat, Sydney Thunder, Melbourne Renegades, and Adelaide Strikers are the other four championship-winning teams.
The Champions League Twenty20 tournament, an annual international Twenty20 competition played amongst the top domestic teams from various nations, used to be open to the top two teams in the competition prior to 2014. After its final match in 2014, the Champions League Twenty20 was no longer in existence.
