Delhi Capitals bought David Warner for a steal

They were in action straightaway as they went after seven of the 10 marquee players. However, they only managed to get David Warner on board for INR 6.25 crore.

With Warner being one of the most successful batters in IPL history, his signing was indeed a steal for DC. Notably, DC emphasized more on multi-faceted players and they managed to get some leading names on board.

Delhi Capitals Strong Squad :

Delhi Capitals will look to rebuild a strong squad around their four retained players -Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, Prithvi Shaw, and Anrich Nortje.

As a think tank, each of the team will want a balanced team, with the core and the best thing Delhi has done is they kept four key players in their squad — a top-order batsman,  wicketkeeper-batsman, an all-rounder, and a quick bowler, thus doing the basics right.

So what are the options that the Delhi side will look at during the impending auctions? Assistant Coach Pravin Amre has an inspiration. “Now, we want to get players, who can give us more equilibrium basically, that’s our important goal, and that’s the challenge, to be honest.

Who is the Head Coach of DC IPL?

Head coach:Ricky Ponting
Assistant Coach:   Pravin Amre
Agarkar has 288 ODI and 58 Test scalps under his name and has symbolized Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Daredevils in the IPL. He joins the Delhi Capitals guiding staff of Ricky Ponting (Head Coach), Pravin Amre (Assistant Coach), and James Hopes (Bowling Coach.

Who is DC’s HIGHEST run-getter?

Virender Sehwag, who has also governed the Delhi Capitals during his time with the side, has scored 2,382 runs in 86 matches for the side and is nowadays the highest run-scorer for DC.

How well do you know the Delhi Capitals?

The runners-up of the previous edition of the IPL, Delhi Capitals welcomed the toxic South African fast bowling duo of Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortjethrough an Instagram post today.

The franchise posted a picture of the duo wearing masks from a Mumbai hotel, as they reached mid-way from national duty in their series versus Pakistan at home.

There were only not the fans elated to see the bowlers, but the caption of the post also prompted gleeful reactions from amongst them.

Do you know “ Dil se Dilli “?

Notorious for dramatically changing their roster after every couple of seasons, Delhi Daredevils even altered their team’s name to Delhi Capitals, and no, according to the landlords, the reason has nothing to do with supernatural beliefs.

However, based on their path record in the Indian Premier League, while holding the most disappointing record amongst the actual franchises that have managed to endure over the years, it wouldn’t hurt them to try everything in their armory.

Just then, there are some diehard Delhi fans who have refused to look away and stuck around with the team every single year for the past 12 seasons.

Who Owns Delhi Capitals?

The Delhi Capitals is one of the eight founding teams that plays in the VIVO Indian Premier League (IPL).

Co-owned by the GMR Group and the JSW Group, Delhi Capitals was organized in 2008 as Delhi Daredevils before adopting a new avatar in December 2018.

Conclusion

Delhi Capitals quite often establish themselves at the bottom of the Indian Premier League (IPL) league table in the past decade, failing to make it to the playoffs for six straight seasons from 2013 to 2018.

But for the last three seasons, they have been one of the most compatible sides, reaching the final once and making the playoffs on all three occasions.

The turnaround came about with the nomination of Australia’s great Ricky Ponting as a coach and by investing in a core that largely encompassed young players alongside some proven campaigners.

Mandeep Singh and Rovman Powell are middle-order options and while they could have done better in that area, their purse demonstrated to be a constraint.

Overall, DC has a group of solid 15-17 players which makes them a team to look forward to.
