Gujarat needed 68 runs in the final six overs to win.
The Gujarat Titans were facing a difficult situation, but with Rahul Tewatia and David Miller in the middle, they combined their experience and put on a counterattacking stand.
As the runs started to flow, Tewatia took on the Indian spinners, with Ravi Bishnoi bowing to the pressure as the batsmen aimed for the shorter boundary.
The game was turned on its head as 39 runs came in 11 balls. Tewatia remained cool, controlled, and composed throughout the game, adding 60 runs in 34 minutes until Miller was dismissed for 30.
He hit the winning run to keep his unblemished record at 40 runs off 24 batters.
After smashing a maximum against Rashid Khan, the right-handed batsman smashed a half-century in the next over. Young Badoni smashed a six and two fours against the opposition skipper in the 15th over, while Hooda closed the over with a boundary.
Badoni hit another six off Rashid Khan, but the spinner came back into the game with the wicket of Hooda, who was removed for 55 runs.
however the next man in, Krunal Pandya, smashed two straight fours in the 18th over, while Badoni finished Shami’s over with a four-ball flip. With a maximum against Lockie Ferguson in the penultimate over, Badoni completed his maiden half-century in the IPL.
The right-handed batter was caught in the final over, but the Super Giants put up a competitive first-inning total of 158-6.
