Top 3 Highest Individual Scores in CPL
Brandon King (132* runs)
At the top, it’s not Gayle, Russell, or McCullum. In actuality, Brandon King has the highest individual CPL score from the 2019 campaign.
It was the Providence game between the Guyana Warriors and the Barbados Tridents.
The choice by Guyana to bat first after winning the toss was ultimately successful.
After a sluggish beginning, they added 80 runs in their first ten overs.
However, they really went crazy after that and scored around 140 runs in their final 10 overs. It was a result of Brandon King’s outstanding century.
With 10 fours and 11 sixes, he batted through and managed to stay unbeaten on 132* off 72 balls. Guyana scored 218/3 off 20 overs.
Barbados made 188/8 in their 20 overs as their reply, putting out a valiant effort but falling well short of the mark.
Brandon was named “Man of the Match” after Guyana defeated them by a score of 30 runs.
Andre Russell (121* runs)
No wall can contain Andre Russell when he’s in the right frame of mind. His second-highest CPL score, from the 2018 campaign, is held by him.
It was Russell’s debut game as captain and it was between the Trinbago Knight Riders and the Jamaica Tallawahs.
He called Trinbago to bat first after winning the toss, and they did it brilliantly thanks to clean hitting from Brendon McCullum (56), Chris Lynn (46), and Colin Munro (61).
Trinbago thus scored a significant total of 223/6 runs. To track down the sum, a particular performance was necessary.
However, Jamaica got off to a terrible start, losing their first five wickets for only 41 runs. But following that, there was only Russell’s show.
He scored the fastest CPL century off just 40 balls, joining Kennar Lewis (51) in a match-winning partnership of 161 runs for the sixth wicket.
Russell contributed to his team’s impossibly difficult chase with the second-highest score of 121* runs off just 49 balls, which included six fours and 13 sixes.
In the first innings, he also took a hat-trick, making him the first player to ever record both a century and a hat-trick in the same game.
Faf du Plessis (120* runs)
Faf du Plessis, a former captain of South Africa, now has the third-highest score in the CPL.
It happened in the 15th game between St. Lucia and St. Kitts of the 2021 campaign. The toss was won by St. Kitts, who decided to bowl first. Both St.
Lucia’s openers contributed 71 runs for the first wicket as part of a strong start.
Although Andre Fletcher was struck out for 23 runs, Du Plessis maintained the lead.
In the end, he and Roston Chase (64* off 31) established an unbroken third-wicket stand of 124 runs off 56 balls.
Du Plessis batted steadily throughout the entire inning and notched an unblemished century.
He scored 120 runs off 60 balls, including 13 fours and 5 sixes, to assist his team in reaching a significant total of 224/2.
St. Kitts lost the game by 100 runs after being all out for just 125 runs in 16.5 overs in response to a large total.
